COLDENHAM FIRE DISTRICT

The Coldenham Fire District consists of five publicly-elected officials, the Board of Fire Commissioners, each of whom serves a five year term. Much like the volunteer firefighters we work with, we are not paid to serve as Commissioners. It is our responsibility to provide the necessary apparatus, buildings and equipment needed to assist the Coldenham Fire Department in the fire and rescue activities that are essential for the protection of life and property within the Coldenham Fire District. It is also our responsibility to operate the Coldenham Fire District in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.

BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS

Chairman	Wayne Jacobowitz	The board meets on a monthly basis, to oversee the operation of the Fire District and to make policies and procedures under which the Fire District and the Fire Company operate. We remain keenly aware of the fiduciary responsibility we hold in representing the taxpayers within our Fire District. As Commissioners, we are mandated to follow a strict formula in preparing the budget in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, including specified spending limits. Our process is a public one, and we welcome the input of the residents and taxpayers we represent in the Coldenham Fire District.

ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE COLDENHAM FIRE DISTRICT

DECEMBER 11, 2018

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Coldenham
Fire District will take place on December 11, 2018 between the hours
of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. at the Coldenham firehouse located at 511
Coldenham Road, Walden, New York for the purpose of:
Electing one Commissioner for a 5-year term

commencing on January 1st, 2019 and ending on December 31st,
2023
All residents of the Coldenham Fire District, who are duly registered
to vote with the Orange County Board of Elections on or before
November 19, 2018 shall be entitled to vote at this election.
Any person desiring to have his or her name appear on the ballot for
the above office must have filed a petition, signed by at least twenty-
five (25) qualified electors of the Fire District, with the Secretary of the
Fire District not later than November 21, 2018.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Coldenham Fire District will hold regularly scheduled meetings at 7:30 P.M. on the first Monday after the first Tuesday of the month for the calendar year of 2018. The meetings will take place in the 2nd floor meeting room of the Coldenham Fire House 511 Coldenham Road Walden NY. The meeting dates are as follows: February 8, March 12, April 9, May 7, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12 and December 10, 2018.
